Why didn’t he die?

He was there and he could have been dead,
But he didn’t die. It’s not that I’m not grateful
Or in some weird way I wanted him to die.
No, I am glad that he is alive; I just don’t understand.
There must be a reason; I know God has a plan
In some way the world won’t be the same
God let him live in order that something great might be done.
All I can do is wait and hope that I get to see,
What God will do.
